Infusing the traditional techniques of intaglio etching and monoprints with a modern, bold graphic style, Beth Weintraub creates works on metal and paper inspired by botanical imagery, Art Nouveau and contemporary design. Each one of a kind work is painted or etched by hand and is unencumbered by photography or computer assisted design. Weintraub experiments with layers of imagery and a palette of colors ranging from ultra violet to earthy. Her reverse and direct acid-etched metal panels with organic motifs including wood-grain and flowers reveal a subtle surface texture and a rich patination that is applied to each panel. Her work includes etched metal multi-plate designs, colorful oil-based etchings on paper, water-based monoprints and three dimensional wall sculptures. Weintraub's work can be found in residential and commercial spaces in the US and abroad. Commissions are accepted. |
